Keith Urban is without a doubt one of the most famous names in the entertainment industry today. The New Zealand born country musician/singer rose to popularity when he released a self-titled debut album in 1991. It went on to chart four singles in Australia before moving to the United States the following year. Since then, he has never looked back, and boy are we glad! Urban has given us a lot of incredible songs till date, and he will surely continue to do so.
The video below features his cover of the famous hit song “To Love Somebody” by the Bee Gees. He managed to wow everybody in the audience when he belted out his rendition of the classic for CBS’ “Stayin’ Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees” special broadcast. Before he started, he told the crowd that the Bee Gees were a huge inspiration to him on his journey. And I am sure many artists out there will agree with him on that part.
Lots of musicians were present at the event and they performed songs as a tribute to the iconic Bee Gees. Some of the artists were Ed Sheeran, Celine Dion, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Demi Lovato, and Andra Day. But in my honest opinion, Keith stole the show. He even went on to call “To Love Somebody” one of the greatest love songs ever written. The song was written by Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, and was released in 1967. After its release, it reached the Top 20 in the music charts in the US.
Keith Urban’s performance left even the original writer and singer Barry Gibb in tears. Check out the video below!
